13-year-old girl accused of making threat against E.L. Wright Middle school last month
A student at E.L. Wright Middle school has been charged in connection with the social media threat that happened last month.
Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff's Department say a 13-year-old girl made threats against the middle school and then brought the social media post to the attention of the School Resource Office (SRO).
She has been charged with school threats, incorrigibility, and runaway.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says they take all threats of violence seriously, especially those to the most vulnerable populations, children and the elderly.
The department encourages the community to report suspicious activity and threats of violence by calling 911.
