2 charged following 10-mile car chase in Richland County


RICHLAND COUNTY, SC. (WACH)-- A Midlands man and woman are facing a number of charges following a police chase that resulted in a crash Friday.

According to the Richland County Sheriff's Department, 47-year-old Reggie Goodwin and 31-year-old Ashley Baker were both transported to Palmetto Health Richland following a 10 mile chase.

The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. when deputies attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic violating. During that time they recognize that the passenger, Baker, had an outstanding felony warrant out of Richland County.

At this time, Goodwin reportedly fled from the scene in the vehicle throwing a handgun and several drugs out of the window, before crashing.

Both are still recovering at the hospital with unknown conditions.

Goodwin is facing a number of charges, Baker was served with the outstanding child neglect warrant.
