20-year-old man arrested for throwing rock-like materials off I-26, attempted murder
LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) – A Gaston man is now facing three counts of attempted murder after deputies say he was throwing large pieces of rock-like materials at cars on an interstate highway.
According to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, 20-year-old Tyler Chase Loyd threw objects at three trucks near exit 199 on Interstate 26 during the early morning hours of May 12.
One of the objects crashed through a windshield and struck a man in the shoulder.
Investigators say Loyd admitted driving a car deputies found parked in the same area of the incident.
Loyd is currently at the Lexington County Detention Center.
