37-year-old Sumter woman missing for over a year

    SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WACH)-- The Sumter County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's assistance to help find a woman who has been missing for more than a year.

    Deputies say Julia Bean was last seen in the Red Bay Road area on May 31, 2017. Six months later she was reported missing and authorities have been actively searching for her since.

    Family members told authorities that the 37-year-old left the area on foot and does not have a cell phone and it not taking any medications.

    She is described as a white woman with light brown hair and green eyes. She weights somewhere between 110 and 120 pounds and stands about five-feet-six-inches tall.

    She reportedly has three tattoos, one of them is a tribal design on her lower back, the name "Scott" on her left hip, and eight small paw prints on her right hip.
