Amber Alert issued for missing three-month-old NC girl

CARY, NC (WACH) – An Amber Alert has been issued in North Carolina, but the suspects could possibly be traveling through South Carolina.

Three-month-old Cali Cochran is a white female who could possibly be with 31-year-old Heather Cochran and 39-year-old Rex Cochran. The two are non-custodial parents who abducted the three-year-old, according to the Amber Alert website.

The two are also wanted on a felony child abuse charges in North Dakota.

The child was taken by the two suspects around 10 a.m. Tuesday after a judge ordered for the child to be put in the hands of the Department of Social Services, according to the Haywood County Sheriff's Office.

Cali is said to have brown hair and weighs about 10 pounds.

Heather Cochran is described as a white female who stands at 5-foot-4, 120 lbs., has brown hair and green eyes and a tattoo on the right side of her neck that says “Faith,” according to the Amber Alert website.

Rex Cochran is described as a white male who’s 5-foot-7, 185 lbs., has brown hair and brown eyes.

The could be driving a blue 2001 Ford Mustang or a gray 1999 GMC Suburban K1500 with license tag 489-AWH. They could be traveling on I-40 heading to possibly Ocala, FL. Or Valdosta, GA.

Deputies with the Sheriff's Office are also working with state and local law enforcement agencies from different local states to search for all three.
