Man accused of shooting, killing Sumter man at auto shop back in Sumter

SUMTER COUNTY, SC (WACH) – Thirty-eight-year-old Demetrius Brown will be back in Sumter around 6 p.m. Friday evening, accoridng to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Brown is accused of shooting and killing 34-year-old Sharmine Pack at a Sumter auto repair shop Saturday, Aug. 11. He then became a fugitive when he left the state.

Brown waived extradition in a Jacksonville, FL. court Thursday after he was arrested, according to Deputy Ken Bell.

Brown will now be brought back to Sumter County to face murder charges.

The shooting hapenned arounf 4:30 p.m. Saturday when deputies were called to a shooting that hapenned at Auto Doctors at 56 South Pike Road East.

Pack was found sufering from gunshot wounds when deputies arrived. He was taken to Palmetto Health Toumey Hospital where he later died.
