Bond set for driver in moped hit-and-run that injured woman

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH)-- Bond was set for the Winnsboro man involved in a moped hit-and-run accident early October.

A judge set Michael David Mobley's bond at $25,000 Thursday afternoon.

Almost a month after the incident, Mobley turned himself in to authorities Wednesday afternoon at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, on Oct. 11 Mobley was driving his 2000 Dodge Ram pickup truck when he struck 27-year-old Cindy Latoree who was driving her moped.

Latoree was ejected from the moped and Mobley fled the scene.

A bystander who witnessed the crash saw Latoree's body, put his car in reverse and used his car to block off the roadway so that no one would hit her.

According to Latoree's sister, she had undergone her twelfth surgery and is on a respirator.

Mobley was ordered not to have contact with the family.

Watch the moment the victim's family member met the man who helped rescue their sister.
