California man arrested with more than 25 lbs. of pot at Columbia airport, deputies say
LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) – A California man was arrested in possession of more than 25 lbs. of marijuana Monday after a traffic stop at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office.
43-year-old Sacramento resident Jackson Quincy Reed is charged with trafficking marijuana, according to an arrest warrant.
“Deputies apprehended and arrested Reed after he struck a light pole on airport property,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Following a lawful search of Reed’s vehicle, deputies found 28 bags of marijuana that each weighed about a pound.”
Reed is also charged with reckless driving on the John N. Hardee Expressway as he drove away from the airport, according to investigators.
Reed is at the Lexington County Detention Center where a judge set bond for Reed Tuesday t $100,000 with required GPS monitoring.
