Deputy injured, suspect still sought after vehicle pursuit ends in crash
LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) – A Lexington County Sheriff’s deputy was sent to the hospital after he was involved in a single-vehicle crash.
According to the department, the deputy was attempting to stop a car in the 600 block of Edmund Hwy just before midnight for an equipment violation.
The person’s car didn’t slow when the deputy turned his blue lights on and a chase began. That chase ended just past the intersection of Old Orangeburg and Pleasant View Rd., however.
The subject was not caught and while the deputy was injured, he didn’t sustain life-threatening of serious injuries.
The subject is still being sought by deputies. The suspect's car is described as a brown, early 2000's Chevrolet Impala with a black rear bumper and no license plate, according to the department. No description was given about the subject.
