Driver shot, crashed into home, suspect on the loose

Columbia, S.C. (WACH)-- The Columbia Police Department are investigating after a car crashed into a home as a result of a shooting.

Just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a shots fired call on the 2800 block of Booker Street in Richland County.

One person was struck in the lower body with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe that the victim was driving when they were struck by a bullet and crashed into an abandoned home.

The suspect fled from the scene.

Investigators are working to determine if the incident was captured on video surveillance.
