Gag order issued in case of Chesterfield County baby found dead in diaper box
Chesterfield County, S.C. (WPDE) — A Circuit Court Judge issued a temporary gag order Thursday morning in the case Breanna Lewis, who is charged in connection with the death of her baby, according to Fourth Circuit Solictor's Office.
Her daughter, 11-month-old Harlee, was found dead in a diaper box last Wednesday on Daisy Lewis Lane off Jackson Road East in Chesterfield County.
Officials said Lewis' attorney Matt Swilley filed the motion and it was granted.
Online records say Swilley has been appointed as Lewis' public defender.
Lewis is charged with destroying, altering, concealing, or tampering with physical evidence or biological material, destruction, desecration or removal of human remains and filing a false police report, according to public online records.
The case has gained national attention.
Swilley's office said they can't comment as this time as to why they wanted a gag order put in place on the case.
We're working to get a copy of the motion that was filed and the actual gag order.
