LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) – A natural gas leak that evacuated several businesses and shut down lanes on Sunset Boulevard Tuesday afternoon has been secured, according to officials with the Town of Lexington.

All lanes on Sunset Boulevard are back open as well.

The gas leak was in the 5400 block of Sunset Blvd. and U.S. 378 near Cherokee Road, according to the Lexington Police Department. The leak shut down all lanes in the area, police say.

Residents in neighborhoods in the are are allowed to go back to their homes, the department says. Businesses are also back open.

The Ruby Tuesday, Synovus Bank, NTB Tire, Security Federal Bank, Office Depot, First Community, Smashburger, Vitamin Shop, Mattress Firm and Marcos Pizza were all evacuated. There's still no word if they're back open, however.
