Haley: The best candidate based on policies is still Donald Trump

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) - During a news conference Wednesday, Gov. Nikki Haley said she will be voting for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

"The best person, based on the policies and dealing with things like Obamacare, still is Donald Trump. That's who I will be voting for Nov. 8," announced Haley.

The governor said this election has "turned her stomach upside down" and that she is not a fan of either candidate.

"It has been embarrassing for both parties," said Haley on the events leading up to the election.

Haley's decision to vote for Trump comes several weeks after the SC Democrats called for all Republicans to pull their support for Trump, after a tape was leaked of the billionaire making inappropriate comments about women.

Haley and Trump have not always seen eye to eye, with both taking jabs at each other over the year, which included a back-and-forth on Twitter.

The ultimate blow from Haley to Trump was when she endorsed Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., instead of Trump ahead of the "First in the South" primary in February.
