"It shows love" Richland County deputies sharing holiday cheer at traffic stops
More people than usual got pulled over by Richland County deputies for speeding Wednesday in Eastover. They're reminding people to slow down, but to also feel loved this holiday season.
Each driver was pulled over for minor traffic violations, but was let go without a citation. Region officers are spreading holiday cheer in the form of restaurant gift cards.
"Instead of getting that citation, taking something home they'll remember. Cops aren't so bad. we do other things besides giving tickets. We share love and fellowship," said Region 8 commander Bill Connors.
Officers say the tradition has been so successful in the past, they decided to bring it back a fifth time.
