Jason Roberts announces candidacy for Richland County Sheriff 2020
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) —
Jason Roberts, a former Chief of Police in the Town of Eastover, announced his candidacy for sheriff of the Richland County Sheriff's Department Thursday.
Roberts is a 20-year law enforcement veteran who began his career at 21-year-old with the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
He worked for the department for a total of 14-years under Sheriff Allen Sloan.
While with the department he worked as a Court Security Deputy, Field Training Officer, Assistant Shift Supervisor, Traffic Safety Deputy, and Special Response Team Member.
He left the department twice to pursue other career opportunities as he served as the Chief of Police in Eastover and as a Patrol Officer at the Columbia Police Department.
While at the Columbia Police Department Roberts worked on the Pro-Active Community Enforcement Unit, Crime Prevention Unite and the Community Response Team.
He is currently the CEO of Affinity Solutions of South Carolina, which is a private investigations, private security and security consulting firm.
