Airport High principal on administrative leave; assistant principal fired
Lexington Co., S.C. (WACH) -- An official with the Lexington School District Two has confirmed that the assistant principal of Airport High School has been fired and that the principal of the school has been placed on administrative leave.
Dawn Kujawa, the public information spokeswoman for the district, confirmed that Principal Brad Coleman is on administrative leave, but that Assistant Principal Dawn Diimmler was fired.
Kujawa also stated that when certified employees are put on administrative leave, it is typically paid, as required by state law.
Monday night, the district called a special board meeting where they voted unanimously to terminate the employment of an assistant principal within the district. However, they would not confirm if the two announcements were connected, or if Diimmler was, in fact, the employee that was fired.
The board says they voted after a recommendation by the district superintendent to make the termination.
