Lexington woman wanted for strong armed robbery

Veronica Bailey (Lexington Police Department)

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) – The Lexington Police Department has announced they’re searching for a woman wanted for strong armed robbery.

The incident happened at Kohls Saturday, according to police. A loss prevention associate observed 32-year-old Veronica Latrice Bailey take numerous items of children’s clothing and walk into a fitting room.

The associate said they could hear Bailey removing tags form the clothing and when exiting the fitting room noticed that her purse was visibly larger than before.

The associate was familiar with Bailey as she had been involved in numerous past shoplifting incidents at Kohls.

As Bailey walked out of the store, the associate asked her to return the merchandise. Bailey turned around while standing in the parking lot and pepper sprayed the associate in her face. The associate also tried to get Bailey’s license plate number, but was once again sprayed with the pepper spray.

An arrest warrant has now been issued for Bailey for strong armed robbery. If you have any information on her whereabouts, you’re asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or the Lexington Police Department at 803-359-6260.
