    COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – Police are investigating a hit and run collision that involved a person, according to the Columbia Police Department.

    The hit and run happened Monday, March 11 at the intersection of Two Notch Road and Cushman Drive, according to police.

    A 25-year-old man was hit and is still in the hospital with serious injuries to his head and internal trauma and broken bones.

    An investigation showed that the man was traveling eastbound on Two Notch Road around 8:30 p.m. when a car disregarded a red traffic light and hit him, according to police.

    The driver continued driving and didn’t stop to help the man, however.

    Police describe the car as being a red, newer model Jeep Cherokee with dark tinted windows.
