Man wanted for punching victim in face, stealing car, trailer and boat
COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is asking for the community’s help in identifying a man wanted for aggravated assault, theft of a motor vehicle and larceny charges,
Lott said that on Sunday, April 1, deputies responded to a call that a car had been stolen at the Shell gas station in the 9000 block of Garners Ferry Rd.
Lott said a witness told deputies that she saw the suspect punch a man, hop into the man’s 2016 Chevy truck and drive off.
The victim, who had his truck stolen, said he stepped out of his truck to buy several items at the gas station’s convenience store when the suspect asked him for money. He said he then waived the suspect off, bought his items and left.
The victim then realized he had forgotten to buy an additional item, the victim returned to the convenience store where he was again approached by the suspect. The victim and the suspect then got into a confrontation that led to the suspect punching the victim.
The suspect then stole the victim’s car, which had been left running with the key in the ignition.
The victim received injuries to his face because of the incident. Along with the victim’s truck, a trailer and a boat that were attached to the truck were stolen.
