McMaster declares March 7th as STEM Education Day
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH)-- It's a great day for science and math lovers in the Palmetto State as Gov. Henry McMaster declared March 7 as STEM education day.
The decision comes as South Carolina's coalition for mathematics and science celebrates 25 years of all things science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Throughout the years the organization such as BMW Manufacturing Co., Santee Cooper, Duke Energy, ScanSource and others have partnered with educators and businesses to keep the STEM momentum going.
Five STEM teachers walked away with some money and received the "Growing in SC: The Future of STEM is Here" grant awards.
