COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH)-- After a social media post went viral over the weekend, the Richland County Sheriff's Department is investigating a man accused of soliciting minors online.

Diana Crystal posted a message to a Facebook page warning others of a man allegedly threatening to kidnap and kill her children.

The woman says the man who introduces himself as a 48-year-old man named "Joe" emailed her personally asking to put her daughter on video chat. He was blocked and somehow was able to contact one of her friends.

The woman says the man contacted her friend saying that he wanted her daughter and asks the friend to kidnap the woman's children for him.

He also mentioned that he knows how her kids get home from [school].

In some of the messages, the man asks if the child is a virgin. One of his messages says

"I find a lot of kids emails and social medias. I have texted a lot of kids on here but none of them want me, but I want them badly"

If you have received any emails similar to these or know anything about this please call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
