Mother of four dies at finish line of Palmetto Half Marathon

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) - A wife and mother of four was running in the Palmetto Half Marathon in Columbia Saturday when she crossed the finish line, collapsed and died.

EMT's were at the race and came to the aid of Amanda Peake Glover. She was then rushed to a nearby hospital but did not survive. Glover was 32-years-old.

The Palmetto Half Marathon released this statement on their Facebook page Sunday morning:

The cause of Glover's death has not been released.

Glover was co-owner and worked out frequently at "Fitness 5 three 5" in Elgin. The fitness facility posted late Saturday night the following on their Facebook page:

Glover leaves behind her husband, Benji, and their four young children.

A funeral services have been announced. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Powers funeral home in Lugoff. A service will be held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Spears Creek Baptist Church.
