Orangeburg deputies search for vehicle in drive-by shooting that injured a teen

ORANGEGBURG, S.C. (WACH)-- Deputies in Orangeburg are searching for a vehicle they say was involved in a shooting over the weekend that injured a teen.

Investigators with the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office say around 9:30 a.m. Sunday a juvenile was taken to the hospital after being shot in the leg.

Witnesses say the 16-year-old and a friend were walking through the Roosevelt Gardens apartment complex when an unknown vehicle approached them.

The teens say the vehicle drew close before someone inside began "spraying bullets", according to reports.

Both victims fell to the ground however the 16-year-old later realized he was struck in the leg.

Investigators are asking for the public's assistance locating a white late model Audi with paper tags.
