People turn to Church services in wake of tragedy
COLUMBIA, SC (WACH)- Hundreds paid their final respects to Senator Clementa Pinckney at the Statehouse Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, right across the street at Trinity Cathedral, people also gathered to pray for Pinckney and the other 8 victims of the Charleston shooting.
Those that came to pray Wednesday say they are proud of the way people are coming together in the wake of tragedy.
Margaret Moore said, "I am thankful that people are coming together to express their sadness to the families and supported the families, and know that we can be peaceful."
In Charleston, thousands of flowers lay outside of Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal church.
Church services are happening around the state and country, as people come together, grieving the loss of 9 innocent lives.
