Records: Former Columbia Police Chief facing drug charge
According to online court records, former Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott is facing a drug charge.
Currently jail records state that Scott is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center after being charged with possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine or cocaine, first offense.
He will appear in bond court at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The 49-year-old resigned in April 2013 due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He was later hired by the Richland County Sheriff's Department as an investigator before stepping down in 2016 due to health reasons.
