Salute From The Shore passes over Lake Murray
LAKE MURRAY, SC (WACH)-- For the first time ever on the Fourth of July holiday Salute From the Shore used two F-16 fighter jet planes to fly over Lake Murray in honor of the military.
This is the ninth annual event. It kicked off in Cherry Grove South Carolina and included a flight over Spence Island.
Several dozens of boaters who gathered to get a glimpse of the pass over said they went to show their respect. Some also wore red white and blue. As those planes quickly flew over the lake people chanted USA.
Organizers said they wanted to broaden the scope and allow more people to take part when it comes to honoring the military. You can help support the effort by sharing and posting any pictures that were taken during the event. You can use hashtag salute from the shore.
