SC Disasters Recovery Office places 226 in new homes following Hurricane Matthew

The South Carolina Disaster Recovery Office (SCDRO) announced 226 families have been placed in new or revenated homes following the 2015 Hurricane Matthew.

According to SCDRO, 574 award letters for repair or replacement homes for those affected by Hurricane Matthew has also been released. The following counties have received letters:

Florence 29583

Horry 29526

Marion 29546

Williamsburg 29554

Williamsburg 29556

The award letter notifies families that they have been accepted into the program and explains the steps to move forward with the process.

The goal of SCDRO is to serve as many citizens as possible as the intend to repair or replace more than 1,300 homes.

The program is designed to assist low to moderate income households and the highest priority is given to households with documented damage, those over 65-years or older.
