Several patrol cars broken into during Sheriff's Conference in Columbia
COLUMBIA, S.C. —
While several representatives from agencies all over the state attended the Sheriff's Conference Meeting in Columbia, eight patrol vehicles were broken into in the hotel's parking lot.
According to the Colleton County Sheriff's Office, several items were taken from the vehicles on the night of January 24th.
South Carolina Highway Patrol tried to stop a vehicle, which led troopers on a 20-mile chase. It ended when the suspect's vehicle collided with two patrol cars.
According to Colleton County Sheriff R.A. Strickland, SCHP and the Columbia Police Department are investigating despite recovering the stolen items.
