SLED: Benedict College student death case closed for agency

COLUMBIA (WACH) ---- No criminal charges will be filed in the death of Benedict College student Jerrell White.

That new information is coming to us from Thom Berry a S.L.E.D Spokesperson.

Berry says that decision is based on a review from the solicitor’s office in Lancaster.

Right now White’s case is closed for S.L.E.D.

According to the Lancaster County coroner’s office, the cause of White’s death will be released at a later time.

White, a Benedict College student was found dead after he went missing from a party on July 4th, 2017.

According to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, Jerrell White's body was located from a pond around 9 a.m July 9, 2017.

He was last seen jumping a fence on Pleasant Road near the pond.

White was last seen in the 4000 block of Pleasant Road in Lancaster County.

He left the location around 1 a.m Wednesday July 5th, 2017.

According to the Associated Press, authorities believe he left the part after an altercation.
