Sumter man charged with attempted murder in connection with Sunday shooting

RCSD investigating shooting incident; 2 injured

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WACH)-- One Sumter man has been charged in connection with a shooting that occurred Sunday.

According to warrants, 18-year-old Norris Ja'Vonta Wilson, III intentionally shot a victim numerous times before fleeing. The victim, underwent surgery and is currently hospitalized.

Wilson admitted to law enforcement that he possessed a stolen weapon and showed officers where he hid the weapon.

He was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a stolen weapon.
