Teen denied bond after Saturday shooting; 55-year-old victim still stable

A judge denied bond to the 16-year-old who allegedly shot a Columbia woman on Saturday morning.

Columbia Police Department confirmed Jaleel Brown was denied bond on Sunday, and the department added that the victim is in stable condition.

According to CPD, Brown shot the 55-year-old victim multiple times outside a residence on Easter Street. He was located around 4 p.m. on Saturday by Forest Acres officers.

Brown faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
