COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott has announced the arrests of two men charged with attempted murder.

Anthony Haltiwanger is charged with two counts of attempted murder while Malik Williams is charged with one count of attempted murder, according to the department.

Investigators are currently searching for a third suspect, Dariun Carter, also wanted for attempted murder.

According to the department, deputies responded to a report of shots fired on the 2100 block of Wilkinson Drive Sunday, Oct. 15. Deputies discovered that multiple shots had been fired into a house, striking several walls where the two victims were located. No one was injured, however.

The Midlands Gang Task Force discovered that Haltiwanger, Williams and Carter were involved in a prior altercation with one of the victims. The three later drove to the victim’s house, shot at the home numerous times and then fled the location.

The task force was also able to connect Haltiwanger to the Sept. 27 shootings that took place on the 100 block of Saddlechase Ln. Haltiwanger shot at the victim, striking a bystander’s vehicle after he and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation.

No one was injured and investigators discovered the shooting stemmed from an ongoing music feud.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Carter, you’re asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
