SUMTER COUNTY, SC (WACH) – Two men have been charged with the shooting death of a man found in a creek bed in Sumter last November, according to the Sumter Police Department.

Twenty-one-year-old Parrish Raquan Pollard and 34-year-old Madison Jared Scriven are charged with murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Pollard is additionally charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime, police say.

Police say they shot and killed Chester “Rock” Stavis back in November of 2018. Stavis’ body was found November 21 in a waterway near Dicks and Rast Streets after he had been reported missing by family members.

An autopsy showed Stavis died of a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Both men are now at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center.
