Woman charged with murder after man dies following stabbing in Columbia
COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) - A woman is charged with murder after a man died after being stabbed in Columbia Monday.
Amanda Goodwin, 25, has been charged with murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
A Columbia officer was patrolling in the area of the 3600 block of Phillips Street around 2:30pm when he was flagged down in relations for a domestic dispute.
When officers arrived they found a man stabbed several times.
He was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the man as 55-year-old Curtis Rowe Sr.
Watts said Rowe died as a result of blood loss due to multiple stab wounds to the thigh, one which struck the femoral artery.
According to investigators, Rowe was visiting family members when an argument broke out between Rowe and Goodwin. A witness tried to break up the altercation when Goodwin is accused of stabbing Rowe several times.
Goodwin is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
