Gamecocks' Hayden Hurst drafted 25th overall by Baltimore Ravens
COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) -- South Carolina tight end Hayden Hurst is Maryland-bound. The 6-5 250-lb first-team All-SEC standout was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens with the 25th overall pick.
Hurst was ranked the top-ranked tight end for this year's draft just years after walking on at USC. This past season Hurst snagged 44 passes for 559 yards and two touchdowns.
This marks the first time since Jadeveon Clowney in 2014 that a Gamecock has been drafted in the first round.
