On Halloween night, the College football playoff committee released it's first top 6 rankings for the college football playoff at the start of January.

The committee's first top 6 goes as follows:

1. Georgia

2. Alabama

3. Notre Dame

4. Clemson

(First two out): 5. Oklahoma, 6. Penn State

Clemson is the defending national champions and made the playoff despite suffering a shocking loss a couple of weeks ago to Syracuse. Earlier on Tuesday, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said he wouldn't pay any attention to this week's college football playoff rankings.

Swinney said, "They could have us 10th and it wouldn't matter. It doesn't matter to what happens in Raleigh this weekend." Clemson takes on NC State on Saturday.

Georgia will take on the South Carolina Gamecocks in Athens on Saturday. The Gamecocks (6-2) will try and upset the CFB's #1 ranked team.
