Holbrook agrees to new contract at C of C despite receiving interest from power 5 school
CHARLESTON, SC (WACH) -- Former South Carolina head coach Chad Holbrook has agreed in principle to a new five-year contract with the College of Charleston through the 2023 season, according to The Post and Courier.
On Friday, Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball.com reported that Kansas State has expressed interest in pursing Holbrook as their next head with Brad Hill recently stepping down at KSU.
"Kansas State is a wonderful place and has a great baseball program, but I love the College of Charleston and I don't think my job is done here yet," said Holbrook, via The Post and Courier. "We had a nice year, but we want to do bigger and better things. Our job here is just starting. I just felt like this is where I need to be and that's what made the decision to stay pretty easy for me."
In his first season at Charleston, Holbrook led the Cougars to a 36-19 record and went 4-0 against SEC teams.
