Dutch Fork looks for third straight title

COLUMBIA, SC-- The midland's dynasty led by head coach Tom Knotts is looking to win their third straight 5A High School State Championship. Dutch Fork football has been dominant throughout the season leaving its opponents in the dark, winning the majority of their games by 50+ points.

On Monday's SCHSL State Championship press conference, Knotts along with a few players talked about how bringing a third title home would mean the world.

"If we can win this game for coach Knotts and our parents and everyone who has supported us throughout the years, solidify our legacy as the best in state history, that would mean everything," says senior Kameren Stewart.

After Saturday's semi-final win, players started to let the dominance get to their head. Having humility is something the team has struggled with this season according to Knotts.

"It's been a little of a challenge they're a little bit full of themselves right now. But we keep working at it we just keep telling them to be level headed and be respectful to the game of football and understand it's the ultimate team sport and that's the way it should be,"

During a team meeting Sunday following Saturday's win, Knotts made sure that his players would appreciate the hard work and talent spread throughout the team that led them to such victories.

Dutch Fork will play T.L. Hanna for the 5A State Championship Friday at 7:30 pm at Williams-Brice Stadium. Don't miss this game which will be televised on WACH FOX 57.1.
