COLUMBIA (WACH)- Opening Day now just two days away for the Columbia Fireflies. Tuesday coaches and players met with the media for the first time at their new home Spirit Communications Park.

"Everything here is top of the line," Fireflies manager Jose Leger said. "I wanna say it's the best in the league."

The grind of day-to-day in the minors can be grueling, but when you can call a brand new facility like the Fireflies do home, it makes life as a player a bit easier.

"There's not a lot of ballparks in minor league systems like this," first baseman Dash Winningham said. "For us to be here in our first year, it's going to be awesome."

The Fireflies begin the 2016 season Thursday when they travel to Charleston. Opening day at Spirit Communications Park is set for April 14.
