Bryant Monteilh is a Multimedia Journalist who sees his genuine enthusiasm for people as the conduit for stories that make a difference. Bryant just recently moved to Columbia from Chicago, IL. He’s originally from Phoenix, AZ but has lived and worked in a number of cities.

Bryant has spent nearly 15 years as a journalist in the roles as an anchor, host, co-host, news reporter, multimedia producer and assignment desk editor. He has covered investigative stories, politics, education, business and community development in both television and radio markets from Memphis, TN, Norfolk, VA, Huntsville, AL, Moline, IL, South Bend, IN to Chicago, IL. While in the Midwest, Bryant was part of an exclusive interview with famous Chicagoan, President Barack Obama in the Oval Office. An experience he will not soon forget. Bryant has built a reputation of cultivating and maintaining notable sources and has been recognized for his work.

A former Marine (“ooh-rah”), Bryant played football in college, graduated from the University of California Berkeley (‘Cal’) with a bachelor’s degree in Media Communications and a minor in International Relations. He spent part of a semester studying abroad at the Polytechnic of Central London in London England before being called up to be a part of ‘Desert Storm’ with the U.S. Marines. He went on to earn an MFA Degree in Digital Film (Documentary Filmmaking) from Governors State University in Illinois.

He has produced and directed documentaries. His most cherished documentary project is “A Legacy in the Valley”, which is based on his family’s deep-rooted African American history in the Phoenix, AZ community. The short film was recognized and honored by the state of Arizona as a part of Arizona’s history, in celebration of the state’s Centennial. Bryant has also worked as an emcee/host for various events. He enjoys and has worked as a voice-over talent for commercial and non-profit organizations.

A true lover of history, Bryant has interviewed a number of political and famous civil rights leaders such as Andrew Young, Dr. Joseph Lowery, Fred Shuttlesworth, Samuel “Billy” Kyles, Dr. Jesse Lewis just to name a few. Bryant is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the Society of Professional Journalists.

When not working both sides of the camera, Bryant hones his skills in home remodeling and transforming spaces. He is an avid fitness enthusiast who feels most at home among nature, the outdoors and of course spending quality time with his family.
