Justin has been a Midlands media mainstay for over a decade and is identified by his signature catchphrase: Kier Here!

Kier returns to WACH Fox after a five-year stint at the South Carolina Emergency Management Division where he became a nationally known name in the Emergency Management and Hurricane communities. After training at the National Hurricane Center, he served as South Carolina’s Hurricane Program Manager during the 2014, 2015 and 2016 hurricane seasons. Kier managed the state’s hurricane program through notable tropical cyclones Arthur, Ana, Bonnie, Colin, Danny, Erika, Hermine, Joaquin, Matthew and the October 2015 Flood Event. In total, he worked three major disasters in three years.

Justin originally worked at WACH from 2007 until 2012 where he started as a news reporter and worked his way up to the Chief Meteorologist position. He covered major stories like the Charleston Sofa Super Store fire and forecasted significant weather events like the string of winter storms of 2008, 2009 and 2010. He is a national award-winning journalist, a South Carolina Certified Emergency Manager and a Leadership South Carolina graduate.

When Justin isn’t geeking out over the weather, he spends his time obsessing over pro wrestling, synthwave music, super heroes and atmospheric 1980s films. Justin recently immersed himself in the Japanese science fiction entertainment genre known as Tokusatsu and enjoys shows such as Choujinki Metalder, Special Rescue Police Winspector and Kamen Rider Ryuki. But the thing that brings him the most joy is being a dog dad. Long time viewers will remember Justin’s best friend and fur baby Phoebe the Beagle.
